INTERACTIVE SESSION FOR HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS, LECTURERS AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR 2014/2015 LAUTECH Deputy Registrar –

LAUTECH – The 100 level Rain semester tests which was meant to begin on Monday, November 9, 2015, was postponed till further notice as a result of the ASSU, LAUTECH strike threat.

The students were delayed outside their various centers as they awaited the outcome of the meeting being held by ASSU at that same time.

The meeting was to discuss the issue of  outstanding ‘earned allowances’ owed by the school management. The school management is said to be owing the staff 13 months earned allowance. It was decided in the meeting that all academic activities should seize till furhter notice.

The action by ASSU was unanticipated by the students and some staff, as the test venues had already been set and the supervisors had turned up.

The supervisors who were also waiting for the outcome of the meeting eventually asked the students to go home as the tests had been postponed till further notice.

So far, ASSU, LAUTECH has not made any statement as regards the meeting that was held on Monday, and whether or not the 100 level Rain semester tests will still hold.

Speculations are that the 100 level tests and exams will be done concurrently at the time scheduled for the exams, however, whether the examination will still begin on Monday, November 23, 2015, is uncertain at the moment.

According to sources, the Senate will sit on Wednesday,
